Alexandre Estrela was the first, and so far only, Portuguese artist to present a solo exhibition at MoMA, in New York. With a career that has passed through several countries, this is the artist's first solo exhibition in Portuguese institutions, since its presentation at the Serralves Museum, in 2013.

His work is interested in the possibility of making our body a multisensory antenna capable of processing a set of very diverse stimuli and synthesizing them into a perception. His works use visual, sound and spatial elements to confront us with synesthetic proposals that test our perceptual capacity, destabilizing it and questioning its mechanics, its limits and even its reliability.
