What started as the Market Night, which took place on December 23 at the Farmers' Market and in the surrounding area, has expanded a little throughout the island of Madeira, and is now taking place between the 7th and 23rd of December.

Market Nights are the best way to experience the true essence of the Madeiran Christmas spirit, as people do their Christmas shopping. On the 7th of December it takes place in Santa Cruz, on the 13th in Santo da Serra, Gaula, on the 15th in Camacha, on the 20th in Calheta and Câmara de Lobos, on the 21st in Ribeira Brava, Machico, São Vicente and Santana, and finally on the 23rd in Funchal, which continues to be the highlight of this event.
