The Quinta do Pinheiro is a medium size farm, situated in the Mondego river valley, near the town of Guarda. The farm facilities include a manor house built in the 17th century and which was recently recovered according to the style and the conservation rules in force in this region for the rural heritage.
Situated near the edge of the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela and with a mild climate and climate and typical landscape of granite rocks,
the farm represents today, due to a plan of recovery and improvement of the agricultural practises, led by its present owner, a good example for all those who, in a similar situation, still believe that the portuguese agriculture can meet the challenges and the difficulties it has to face nowadys. In order to take profit of the heavy investments he had to do during the last years, the owner decided to promote in his farm the rural tourism activity.
All this wealthy historical heritage reinforces the tourism vocation of Quinta do Pinheiro, opening new perspectives to other initiatives in this sector of activity.
