With its long stretch of sand forming a bay shape surrounded by tree-covered cliffs, Polvoeira Beach is of stunning beauty. The brave of heart can get the best views by heading up the rock formation that separates this Beach from its neighbour Paredes da Vitória Beach to the north. However, more commonly used to get from one to the other is the road running parallel to the coast through a forest before ending in an amply sized car park. From here, on clear days, the coastline can be seen winding its long way southwards.

The sea, calmer than other beaches in the region, is considered safe for swimming. The area also displays a great range of biodiversity including the many octopuses that live on the rocky seabed off the northerly most tip of the Beach.
