The sands of Vila do Conde Beach cover a long stretch of sand running practically continuously over an approximate 6 kilometres as far as the mouth of the Ave river. This expanse is divided up into a number of beaches named after the respective café or restaurant or the most common visitors. The better renowned include Caxinas Beach, used by fishermen, Turismo Beach, which is near the urban centre and often crowded and Azul Beach, most sought after by surfers.
