In June 2009 Portugal's only national park, - Parque Nacional Peneda-Gêres , joined the PAN Parks' network. Waypoint is a certified local business parter and we are licensed as an eco-tourism company and our objective is to provide ludic activities in harmony with nature.
Hiking programmes and holiday tours in PAN Park starting from Oporto airport is our main activity, but we also create custom weekend and holiday programmes where we include visits to geo-parks, historical villages, traditional crafts and local gastronomy to provide the best local and sustainable experience to the visitors.
Wilderness can still be found in Portugal, even in historically heavily managed regions such as the Iberian peninsula today. The mountainous park, located at the Spanish boarder in the northwestern corner of Portugal, encompasses a total area of 72000 hectares and represents one of the last refuges of the wolf and the royal eagle in the world.
