Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora do Bom Despacho
This sanctuary was founded in 1640 by the hermit João da Cruz, using monies provided in donation, in order to fulfil a promise made to Our Lady. There is a niche in the sanctuary with a sculpture of the Virgin Mary.
The façade is of Barroque style with two bell towers, an eighteenth century high altar and a seventeenth century decorated panel. Seventeenth century painted panels hang in the side altars dedicated to Saint Joseph and the Presentation of the Virgin Mary.
A pilgrimage to this sanctuary takes place on the third Sunday in July.
