Maritime beach
Set back between tall cliffs, Senhora da Rocha Beach is a small area of sand with a calm and clear sea, ideal for both swimming or as a departure point for boat excursions along the coast to discover the nearby grottoes.
To the west, the beach ends in a rock formation that separates it from Nova Beach even if a tunnel cut through the rocks provides a connection. Standing on this rocky outcrop is the enchanting Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Rocha believed to have been built in the 14th century to house the statue within. The panoramic views from around the chapel are stunning, looking out over a great stretch of Algarve coastline.
