Capela romano-gótica de São Salvador
Capela romano-gótica de São Salvador
Monuments
The Capela de São Salvador, built in the Romanesque-Gothic style, is a remarkable work of architecture.
The two high, wide, round and chamfered arches that formed the spans of its single nave have resisted the ravages of time.
These robust arches are supported on carved capitals and thick sturdy columns that back onto the walls and are covered with the monograms of stonemasons.
A third and similar arch, along with its respective columns, marks out the area of the chancel.
The windows, some of which are walled up, are also Romanesque.
The small side door is, however, clearly Gothic in style, with a broken archivolt and small capitals.
