The wall of the City of Portimão has a perimeter of approximately 1100 metres, with a more or less triangular shape. At its truncated corners were the gates of Porta da Serra, Porta de São João and the wicket gate of Postigo dos Fumeiros. The stretch of wall between these three gates is still in its original complete state.
