The Barradas da Serra Farm, Agricultural Company, Ltd, exploits 800 hectares in two independent units. The production of cork and the breeding of sheep in extensive system are its main activities, alongside with the production of wood, pine cone and hunting.

Located at the foot of the mountain range of Grândola, the farm owes it part of its beauty and mystery. A forest of cork, extended to mountains and valleys, is shelter to several animals and plants. The same forest generates plenty of jobs, in an almost perfect system of cohabitation between Man and Nature.  

With a careful management aiming the preservation of the environment and biodiversity, it has been possible to guarantee the profitability of the firm, preserving areas in which flora and fauna stay untouched,  and making the observation of many species in their natural habitat possible.

Being in the possession of the same family for five generations, the farm represents the pride and also the motivation to assure the continuity along times, strengthening the idea that “Without Agriculture there is no Future”.

The option for Tourism in Rural Space is integrated in a strategy of diversification of business, gives meaning to the restoration of the buildings in the farm and  allows the materialization of an old idea in which the art and pleasure of welcoming come together. Tradition, refinement, comfort and some informality are connected to the concept that guided us from the conception of the interiors and the setting of external space. The use of warm colours and of light helps to compose a picture of tranquillity and relaxation near nature.
