Museums and Palaces

The National Railway Museum is a ""living space"", hosting exhibits that relate the history of trains and railways of Portugal. The adventure of knowledge starts with cultural heritage and continues through a reflection on the historic, symbolic and technological role of rail transport, whilst the most important aim is to involve the visitor in an enjoyable and educational experience of sharing and experimentation.

Come and see an interactive museum, take part in workshops and celebrate important moments of life with us. We are housed in the railway complex in Entroncamento, covering an area of 4,5 hectares.

Our permanent exhibition is located within distinguished railway buildings. We have one of the best railway heritage collection in Europe! We manage a vast legacy of more than 150 years. Here you will find real national treasures, wonderful engines that travelled through history and the railway network!
