Museums and Palaces

The Algarve Ethnographic Museum opened on the 15th of December 1962, being the painter Carlos Filipe Porfírio (1895 - 1970) responsible for its organization.

Through a collection of photography one can visit the Algarve of the 1st half of the 20th century. The visitor can also see some traditional objects (fishing, farming, handcraft, domestic industries and costumes), painting and the reconstruction of the Algarve's Traditional house and the tavern.
