Orvalho Walkways in Oleiros
The Orvalho Walkways are integrated in Naturtejo Geopark, in the municipality of Oleiros.
Inserted in the Orvalho Geo Route, they overlook some of the most beautiful landscapes of the Beira Baixa region and provide access to a set of geomonuments classified by UNESCO, such as the Fraga de Água d'Alta Waterfall (Cascata da Fraga de Água d´Alta) and Cabeço Mosqueiro.
The Orvalho Geo Route is about 9 kilometres long, but the walkways were only built in key points of the route, in order to make it possible to go through more demanding areas and thus allow a larger number of people to have access to the idyllic natural places where it passes.
The Fraga D'Alta Waterfall is one of the “ex-libris” of this walk. For a more comfortable suggestion, just park the car next to the road or a little further away, in the Cabeço Mosqueiro park, and follow the route down to the waterfall. With more than 30 metres, it is the largest waterfall in the region.
