The Espinho Planetarium is a place that is almost mandatory to visit to those visiting Espinho. It is the most advanced planetarium in the country, equipped with a high resolution digital projection system.

The projection in the Planetarium is made in 360º, and may even be 3D, depending on the show being presented. The spectator is completely surrounded by image, in a true immersive experience, making the Planetarium an effective and attractive place, with enormous flexibility. Being completely surrounded by image and sound, the spectator is "transported" into the action, which makes the visit to the planetarium a unique occasion.

Some of the shows are about astronomy subjects, but there are also about biology, maths or simple pure entertainment. Pre-elaborated content (films) are projected, but one of the great innovations of this system are the images generated in real time, thanks to the simulator that integrates it, which allows us to travel through the Universe. To follow the movement of a planet, look at the Earth from space, the Solar System, go to a comet, travel to the outside of our galaxy and observe its structure, are some examples, from what we can observe.

The planetarium has an extensive programming and is recommended for all ages.
