The Machico Recreational Port, located in the bay of the city of Machico, has a berthing capacity of 80 small and medium-sized vessels. This port supplies boat owners with both water and energy, as well as access to waste disposal containers including those for oil and batteries.
Machico Bay has invaluable historical value, having been the location from which Portuguese navigators disembarked in Madeira for the first time in 1419. The city of Machico continues to be an important nautical reference point to this day.
