Courses
Situated close to Angra do Heroísmo, the capital of Terceira island, this is an excellent championship course. Tall pine-trees, brightly-coloured flowers (particularly azaleas and hydrangeas), several natural lakes and a superb level of upkeep, all lend this course much of the natural beauty of the Azores. Several tees for each hole also give the course a championship flavour and make playing here a truly unforgettable experience.
Hole number 18, a par 3, is considered to be the most difficult on the course, as its steeply-sloping green, protected by a lake, is particularly hard to read. Before it is reached, however, golfers of all levels will have been subjected to a series of different tests, such as holes number 10 (a par 4 that crosses over a ravine and has a water hazard right in front of the green) and 17 (a long par 5, where water again makes the approach difficult).
The club is run by a tripartite group, consisting of representatives from the Regional Government of the Azores, the Azores Air Zone and the American Command.
