Parish Church of Santa Cruz
Founded in 1456 by the first recipient captain, Jácome de Bruges, the Parish Church of Santa Cruz was only completed in 1517.
Notwithstanding reformulation works in the 19th century, the Church still preserves vestiges of its original Manueline style, as may be seen in the two main doorways and the vaulted roofs.
Key features of the interior encompass an important collection of 16th century and 17th-century statues, including a rare polychrome ivory Indo Portuguese sculpture. Although it was reformulated in the 19th century, it still preserves vestiges of its original Manueline style, as may be seen in the two main doorways and the vaulted arches.
Key aspects of the interior include an important collection of 16th and 17th-century statues, which include a rare Indo-Portuguese polychrome ivory sculpture
