Chapel of São Miguel do Fetal - Viseu
The chapel was built on the site of a former church, that was so ancient it housed the tomb of D. Rodrigo, the last of the Kings of the Goths in the Iberian peninsular. He died in 711 after being defeated in the battle of Guadibeca, and was then brought to this site, where his ashes are kept in a modest granite coffin stored in the interior.
The current church was built in the first half of the 18th century and nothing remains of the original construction except for the stone coffin.
