Museums and Palaces

The museum displays a replica of a traditional Alentejo house, as well as the typical regional handicraft. There are sections on ceramics from the 18th and 19th centuries, clay pottery and earthenware - cork, animal horn and wood articles. A particular highlight is the painted Alentejo furniture from the 19th century.

Other interesting sections include: roman and mediaeval archaeology, tiles and religious art.

In one of the museum`s courtyards there is a workshop, where two local potters can be seen making the traditional clay figures of Estremoz.
