Close to one of the oldest golf courses in Portugal, and surrounded by fine residences, the popular Miramar Beach, with a full range of services and facilities, covers a large expanse with its sands broken by the occasional rock formation.
To the south comes the Mar e Sol Beach, less popular than its northern neighbour, with the dunes that separate the beach from the coast road ensuring the calm ambience perfect for seaside relaxation.
As an alternative to a day on the beach, visit the Ribeiras de Gaia Environmental Education Centre in Miramar. A particular favourite with children, the Centre provides a range of educational games related to nature preservation.
