Envendos is an ancient locality in the municipality of Mação, not only with important archaelogic vestiges, but also with strong traditions and habits that constitute a cultural heritage of enormous and unique value.
Being controverse the origin of its toponym, we know, however, that the village belonged to the diocese of Idanha-a-Velha (Egitânia, in the roman period), one of the most important cities of the former Lusitania.
Nearby, close to Ladeira village, the excelent mineral waters, of enormous curative value, spring warm in a copious flow in the so called Desfiladeiro de Águas Quentes (Hot Waters Gorge).
