The school-ship of the International Biological Station (EBI) penetrates the most spectacular stretch of border park of Arribes del Duero / Douro International, interpreting the fauna, flora, geology and ethnographic resources of this "European Grand Canyon" and spectacular vertical cliffs, with options of 1-3 hours of activity and even several days for groups.

The ship has 120 seats, it is soundproofed and integrated into the landscape, it features a panoramic inner decks under glass, outdoor terraces for all passengers, laboratory, Outdoor Microphone to fauna and cameras with infrared night vision for research. The tours operate all year round, and end with a tasting of Oporto wine, along with a didactic and interactive exhibit with wildlife, and recovery programs and  captive breeding of the EBI.

The departures are made next to the City of Miranda do Douro (Portugal), on its border with Zamora (SPAIN), from EBI piers with plenty of parking, VIP area, bathrooms and exhibition area, fully accessible to elderly and disabled people alongside the boat. With its proximity to Miranda do Douro, the spectacular Environmental Cruise it’s completed with the medieval appeal of this border town, excellent gastronomy and hotel facilities, as well as its shopping zone, ethnographic museum and historic-monumental  area.

The E.B.I. has received among others, the First National Tourism Award and the National Medal of Merit of Portugal, for their ecotourism projects and research-conservation of habitats and species, among which stands out the First Wind-Solar Catamaran of the world performing with divers and live, underwater interpretation of Sanabria Lake Natural Park.
