Troiacruze, Lda. was set up 11 years ago primarily to help recover the Galeões do Sal (Salt Galleons). These vessels played a key role in the economic history of this region firstly as means of fishing and then as cargo ships for transporting salt. They have been deemed both national and regional historic heritage and have been fully restored for maritime-tourism and effectively serve as living museums.

A trip on a salt galleon represents a unique experience and provides the very best way to voyage up the Sado Estuary. This was part of the route these vessels traditionally plied when transporting salt and is now a protected site of rare beauty.
There is also a fair chance of the famous local dolphins accompanying your voyage given they've had decades to grow accustomed to these particular vessels!

The tours were the first company success. In seeking to broaden the range of services on offer, a navigation school has been set up. For the last two years, we have run Seamanship and Skipper courses and that followed on from the 2001 launch of sailing courses for all ages on board the yacht the "Fantasia".
