Parques de Sintra is the “World’s Leading Conservation Company”

The company Parques de Sintra won the World Travel Award for the fourth consecutive time in the category of "World's Leading Conservation Company" at an official ceremony held in the Maldives in December.

Parques de Sintra has once again been the only European nominee in this category amongst competitors from around the world. This distinction, which results from a vote cast by the general public and by tourism professionals, joins other previously received ones that recognize the quality of the work carried out in the recovery and restoration of the parks and monuments under its management (Park and National Palace of Pena, National Palaces of Sintra and Queluz, Chalet of the Countess of Edla, Castle of the Moors, Palace and Gardens of Monserrate, Convent of the Capuchos and Portuguese School of Equestrian Art).

Parques Sintra is a publicly owned company that maintains, recovers and invites visitors to enjoy the places under its management using merely the revenues coming from the ticket office, cafeteria, shops and space rental. In 2016, Parques Sintra expects to exceed two and a half million visitors.
