Naturalist, Science and Tourism is a Portuguese company with multicultural team of Researchers and Field Biologists, dedicated to the study of natural marine and terrestrial environments for more than 10 years. Working in partnership with several Universities, Environmental NGOs, and local communities, Naturalist.pt offers services in Portugal mainland with offices in Lisbon and Peniche, and activity in centre and south (including Alentejo and Algarve), and in the Archipelago of the Açores, based in Faial (Horta) and Pico Islands. 

The Naturalist, Science and Tourism is a STARTUP of the University of Lisbon (MARE STARTUP), with the main goal to conciliate nature tourism with scientific base activities (monitoring and research). This is done by collecting data during van or jeep tours to observe flora, geology, birdwatching, whale and dolphin watching, coastal tours and snorkelling in Portugal and Azores. The programs offered include half day tours 3-4 hours, full day tours, to week programs including accommodation, guide and transfers in Hotel or local accommodation. These can be private, individual or in groups, being reserved online at Naturalist.pt

“Discovering nature in the company of a Biologist”, we promote monitoring, study and conservation of the natural environment through the tourism activity -  citizen-science – collecting environmental data on every nature tour. Committed in the promotion of this concept, we identify environmental monitoring programs and ongoing studies with may benefit from data collected during tours, publicizing to other nature companies. It is a unique project, recognized by the Regional Tourism Board of the Azores and as a STARTUP by Tourism of Portugal in 2016.
