Casa do Cerro da Correia is a quaint local lodging situated a mere 3 kms from the town of Manteigas, in the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, and has a unique view over the Zêzere river Glacier Valley. All rooms are heated. Outside there is a patio, ideal for al fresco meals, and gardens which extend up to a pine forest, perfect for hiking or picnicking. Casa Cerro da Correia has a vegetable garden, with fresh produce, typical of mountain agriculture, and a young orchard. 

Surrounded by pine, chestnut and oak forest, Casa Cerro da Correia is a quiet accommodation. Throughout the day you can hear the singing of different types of native birds of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park: hoops, crows, owls ... The garden has native species. The goal is to create a balanced ecosystem, refuse the use of invasive species, reduce water consumption and boost insect and bird food in the region. To do this, when we started designing the garden, we kept the plants that were already there, like carqueja, rosemary and other wild species. All the plants or trees that have been planted are species that exist in the Natural Park, like juniper, holly, lavender and milk thistle.
