Portugal, the World’s Best Golf Destination for the 5th time

For the 5th year in a row Portugal has been rated the World’s and Europe’s Best Golf Destination at the World Golf Awards.

In the fifth edition of the World Awards dedicated to golf, which has been held since 2014, Portugal has again been singled out as the best country in which to play golf, in Europe and worldwide. The honour was announced at La Manga Club in Cartagena, in Murcia, which once again hosted the awards ceremony.

These awards celebrate and focus the spotlight on excellence in golf tourism and they are the result of votes cast by professionals in the golf industry around the world. In the case of Portugal, the overall tourist experience, including easy accessibility by air and land, hospitality, excellent sports and hotel facilities appropriate to the different profiles of athletes, and the good price-quality ratio of the destination, along with an average of 300 days of sunshine per year, are some of the factors mentioned as setting Portugal apart in this respect.
