The Salgueiros bathing area is on the east coast of Angra do Heroísmo, about 15 km from the city. This bay of calm, clean water was once the main port of the parish then called São Sebastião and it gets its current name from the abundance of willow trees in this area.

The bathing area has good amenities, including a grassed part with a picnic area. There’s a small pebble beach, steps that give access to the sea, and a pool fed by sea water.
