The River House is ideal for nature lovers looking to explore the beautiful, un-spoilt Algarve countryside and enjoy activities such as walking, cycling, bird-watching and fishing.

Explore the popular, self-guided walking route, via Algarviana, especially the routes that are in the area namely Messines to Alte (section 8) and Messines to Silves (section 9) giving you the chance to spot a large variety of birds such as the exotic looking hoopoe, wading egret, fast flying swifts and swallows and also one of the largest flying birds, the stork.

Other walking and cycling routes include the PR1 Percurso Pedestre Cultural S.B Messines, the Paderne Castle walk / cycle route, the Church Walk and the Algarve Road Cycling Silves No 18 Route.

The River House has direct access to the river allowing you to enjoy serene river side views when on top of a paddle board (SUP) or drifting in a canoe. If you prefer to keep your feet firmly on the ground then fresh water fishing for barbel, carp or bass on the Funcho Dam Barragem is another enjoyable outdoor activity at our villa.
