Santar, in the heart of Dão, has an ancient history where wine is the main actor in multiple events that made this town unique, noble and singular.

With an aristocratic bearing, Santar invites us to walk through its streets full of buildings, once residence to the most noble Portuguese families. Manor houses, palaces and stately homes created with the granite from the highlands, intertwined with green gardens, paint the picture of this inviting place.

 It is in the heart of this village that we find the stately Paço dos Cunhas, built in 1609, a place that invites us to learn about its four centuries of history, linked to the production of wine and olive oil, and where we find the old, organically grown Vinha do Contador, one of the most emblematic wines in this region's winemaking history.

In addition to the vineyard and wine heritage, Paço dos Cunhas offers a variety of services to complement the wine and food experiences we provide to those who visit us: the restaurant, that protects the gastronomy of the Beira region through dishes with a contemporary twist, the wine store and the tasting room.

Some of the most precious wines that make up the portfolio of 19|90 Premium Wines are kept in the ancient cellar of Casa de Santar Vinhos. The surrounding landscape reveals its luxuriant vineyards, with stories of secret passions, like Vinha dos Amores, with a wisdom that creates deep and delicate wines.
