Houses, Pits and Streets: Almada's Medieval Roots
Events
The exhibition, Casas, Covas e Ruas - As raízes medievais de Almada, follows the history of the town and the daily life of its inhabitants since the Middle Ages, tracing the slow evolution of the urban centre through the artefacts on display and various multimedia applications.
The excavations that have been carried out throughout the historic centre have identified a large number of silos, or bread pits, structures dug into the rock from which many of the pieces on display in this exhibition were recovered.
