The Portuguese Center of Photography hosts this documentary and memorialistic photography essay that was born, in particular, with profoundly disabled people, injured during the 13 years of the Colonial War (1961-1974).

In it we will find stories of resistance and overcoming of the young soldiers of that time, and of their struggle for society to accept them as whole men. But it does not end in Portugal, entering Africa, where there are so many testimonies, living and silent, of the conflict. This is the other side, less known here, of those who fought for the independence movements in Angola, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau, but also of the Africans who were part of the Portuguese Army.
