The Calouste Gulbenkian Museum hosts works by masters of eighteenth-century Venetian painting, in an exhibition held in collaboration with the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. This meeting of works from the collections of the two museums begins in Lisbon, but will then continue in Madrid.
Themed on eighteenth-century Venetian painting, it presents works by unavoidable painters such as Canaletto, Guardi, Bellotto and Tiepolo, authors of some of the most brilliant compositions of their time, portraying themes such as the "feste", celebrations held in the Serenissima, the "vedute", panoramic views of a certain place, and the "capricci", fanci architectures the result of the imagination of local artists.
