The XXXVII Emigrant Festival is back in Lajes das Flores, in the Azores, to liven up the whole island. The festival takes place between the 19th and 22nd of July, ending on the day of the municipality, which is celebrated on the 22nd of July.
Its motto is "The Island and the World", in reference to the title of one of Pedro da Silveira's first works, which represents the connection of people who left the island in search of better living conditions. The lineup features the names of great renowned artists, such as Fernando Daniel, Emanuel and Cristóvam. On the last day, it is the turn of the Azorean group Blue Sea Project, directed by Filipe Fonseca, to take the stage.
