The exhibition "Lisbon in revolution, 1383-1974" recalls, in the year in which the 50th anniversary of the revolution of April 25, 1974 is celebrated, the different moments of rupture and transformation that took place in Lisbon, from the Middle Ages to the present day.
The exhibition focuses on six periods of tension, namely in 1383-85, 1640, 1820, 1836, 1910 and 1974, telling stories of resistance and change, of the reinvention of identity values, human rights and freedom. Curated by Daniel Alves, around 135 pieces from the collection of the Museum of Lisbon and more than 40 external institutions are exhibited here.
