The National Ballet Company presents three works from very different eras and generations of choreographers, but which dialogue with each other, through a common basis: classical dance.

The history of classical ballet has its origins in the Italian Renaissance, but it is in France, during the reign of Louis XIV, that it develops and consolidates as an independent art form. Over time, classical dance technique has been developed and transformed, influencing and being influenced by diverse cultures and artistic styles. The show "Forsythe / McNicol / Balanchine" features three choreographers distinct in style, but united by the basis of the same technique.
