Absence, the highest form of Presence, Alexandre Baptista
Events
The Iberian Museum of Archaeology and Art of Abrantes inaugurates the exhibition Alexandre Baptista, whose title directly quotes one of James Joyce's statements about loss and absence.
The exhibition "Absence, the Highest Form of Presence" brings together three different series of works developed by the artist in the last six years, along with a new work, and also seeks to draw attention to a certain obscurity or opacity in the reading of the images, to what is (or can be) beyond the framing and limits of the images, for what seems to be missing and for how much these aspects can feed, in the observer, the speculative field of interpretation.
