Between the 18th and 27th of October, Tomar hosts the Santa Iria Fair, which has been held annually in the city since the seventeenth century.

The party lasts 10 days, which include October 20, a date dedicated to the patron saint of the city. On that day, the image of Santa Iria is carried in procession, with the presence of a large number of children from the county's schools, who throw petals into the river, evoking her martyrdom. In addition to the religious nature, the entertainment is another of the highlights of the event and brings to the stage some of the most popular names in Portuguese and local music, attracting all types of audiences.
