The Floor is Lava! Territory #6
The Floor is Lava! Territory #6
Events
Curated by Catarina Laranjeiro and Daniel Barroca, this "Territory #6" is dense and complicated, full of pitfalls and contradictions. The starting point is the film "Fire in the Mud", made in Guinea-Bissau, as well as the Sintra line.
The title "The Floor is Lava!" was suggested by Sara Santos for this exhibition where the artist presents iconic buildings in Cacém on the corner of a blanket map where she has been inscribing a subjective geopolitics of Europe. While directors such as João Pereira (Ticai) and Nelca Lopez imagine themselves in their countries of origin, from the suburbs of Lisbon, the temporality of the War in Guinea-Bissau appears in parallel, through the eyes of José Estima, a former soldier Portuguese.
