Events

The traditional concert of the Association of Friends of the Conservatory of Music of Madeira, called "With Music for the New Year", this year is dedicated to George Gershwin, one of the most interesting American composers of the early 20th century.

This composer wrote, in addition to the numerous songs whose popularity transcends time, several works with the intention of combining the rhythmic and harmonic vitality of jazz with the heritage of European classical music.

The program of this concert presents both sides of the composer, sharing the joy and intense emotions of his music, transmitting enthusiasm, optimism and hope as he enters the New Year.
