The first edition of Liedfest – Classical Song Festival, arrives at Teatro Variedades, in Lisbon, between January 16th and February 2nd.

With a diverse program, this new festival promises to be a fascinating journey into the world of classical song, with multiple crossovers. It has the artistic direction of soprano Catarina Molder and production by Ópera do Castelo, and includes some of Lieder's great cycles and also songs by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Wolf, Fauré, Chausson, Ravel, Poulenc, Luís de Freitas Branco, Fernando Lopes Graça, António Chagas Rosa, Granados, Crumb and Clã, among others. All recitals will have subtitles in Portuguese and English and with a light design, changing the usual format, for greater attention to the artists on stage.
