Curated by Sofia Nunes, this anthological exhibition with paintings and ceramics by Querubim Lapa evokes the centenary of this artist, author of a vast work, very significant for modern art in Portugal.
A remarkable painter, Querubim Lapa stood out as one of the most consistent artists of neorealism, and is now considered one of the most important Portuguese ceramists of the twentieth century. In a constant dialogue between painting and ceramics, which will be exhibited in seven sections, arranged chronologically on the two floors of the Museum, 94 works, produced between 1946 and 1994, belonging to national museums and private collections, will be presented.
