'Holofáutico': a contemporary art perspective on the nautical tradition of Vila do Conde

The exhibition "Holofáutico", by artists Daniel Moreira and Rita Castro Neves, is the culmination of an artistic residency process at the Vila do Conde Shipyards.
"Holofáutico" is a term created by the artists to evoke the act of shedding light on the nautical world, with a special focus on the shipbuilding techniques practised in Vila do Conde. The exhibition is the result of an artistic work developed in interaction and in proximity with shipbuilders, workers, operators, shipowners and fishermen, and in learning with the naval designer and professor António José Carmo, in the Sala do Risco and at the Nautical Arts Center of Vila do Conde.
