Penedo Durão is one of the most impressive viewpoints in the municipality of Freixo de Espada à Cinta.

Located at an altitude of 550 metres, it provides a sweeping view over the Douro River as it winds through the landscape flanked by terraces lined with vineyards and olive groves typical of the Trás-os-Montes region in northern Portugal.

This peaceful spot is ideal for spotting Eurasian griffon vultures, eagles, and other birds of prey.
