Son of Cape Verdean parents, he was born in the Algarve and soon became involved in the movements of globalized urban music, traveling with mastery between musical styles, fusing the universes of soul, hip-hop with batuku and funaná. Working the Cape Verdean musical tradition with the contemporary weight of global electronica, it has already surpassed, however, any musical and social boundaries. Over the last decade, his compositions have become manifestos of love, but also of defense of racial equality, tolerance and empathy. Dino D'Santiago has won 8 Play Awards – Portuguese Music Awards, 6 Cape Verde Music Awards, 1 MTV Europe Music Awards and 1 Golden Globe. In 2021 he was recognized as one of the 100 most influential people of African descent in the world by the Most Influential People of African Descent.
