Events

The Shepherd and Cheese Fair is an annual event that takes place in the center of Penalva do Castelo, in 2025, with a date scheduled on the weekend of February 8th and 9th. Throughout the event, several exhibitions are on display and the sale of local products and handicrafts takes place, in which the trilogy of excellence of endogenous products (Serra da Estrela cheese, "Dão de Penalva" wine and Bravo de Esmolfe apple) stands out and there are also a lot of sweets, smoked meats and regional handicrafts.

There are many people who flock to the event to enjoy the best that the cheese producers and traders of Penalva do Castelo, and its surroundings, have to offer, already asserting itself as one of the largest showcases of products produced in the municipality.
