Casa do Sal (lit. “House of Salt”), known locally as “Balalaica”, is located in a historic building in Castro Marim. It was restored by the municipal council using traditional materials and techniques, enhancing the local heritage.

Originally a warehouse linked to the region's economy, the building has been adapted to promote salt production and local culture through various social, cultural and recreational activities.

In this dynamic space, close to the community, you can learn about the traditional and industrial process of salt production through multimedia exhibitions and a promotional area dedicated to local products related to this activity.
