This is Susan Hiller's first solo exhibition since her passing in 2019. With a multimedia practice that spanned more than five decades, her unique production took many forms, from the collective experimental research of the 1970s to painting, photography, sculpture and innovative audiovisual installations.

Hiller devoted herself to investigating our culture's ambivalent fascination with things that fall outside the realm of normal, everyday understanding. The selected works explore ideas considered alternative or esoteric, marginalized or belittled: extrasensory perception; the belief in mystical powers; the meaning of dreams; automatic writing practices; and collective experiences of subconscious, unconscious, and paranormal activity.
