This year's Festa de Santa Cruz, in Alvarães, Viana do Castelo, takes place on May 17 and 18, with the highlight being the Festa das Cruzes (Festival of the Crosses), with its flowery platforms decorated with thousands of petals glued together to create religious, scenic and monumental motifs.

A spectacle of great beauty, created by people of all ages and professions, who come together to create these authentic works of art, petal by petal. On Sunday, the procession stands out, when the floats are carried on the shoulders of the stewards, to the admiration of the visitors who come to the place every year.
